Mengapa Pasangan Nabi Adam Bernama Hawa?

NABI Adam alaihissalam adalah nenek moyang seluruh manusia di muka bumi ini. Allah SWT menciptakan Nabi Adam dari tanah dan mengembuskan ruh ke dalam jasadnya.

Ketika Nabi Adam diciptakan, maka Allah memerintahkan malaikat sujud kepada Nabi Adam dan menghormati penciptaan Nabi Adam serta memuliakannya. Atas perintah Allah SWT, semua malaikat bersujud kecuali iblis yang dilaknat Allah.

Nabi Adam mempunyai pasangan yang akan menemaninya. Dia bernama Hawa. Disebutkan dalam hadits sahih, dari Rasulullah ﷺ, Allah telah menciptakan (Hawa) dari tulang rusuk Adam yang bengkok.

Lalau mengapa pasangan Nabi Adam tersebut dinamai Hawa? Para ulama dan sejarawan berbeda pendapat tentang sebab penamaan Hawa. Sebab tidak ada hadits sahih dari Rasulullah ﷺ yang dapat menjadi rujukan berkaitan dengan itu.

Di antara para ulama yang meneliti tentang makna kalimat Hawa secara bahasa mengartikan itu sebagai kata turunan dari al-hawwat, yang berarti bibir coklat. Maka disebut hawwa dan untuk laki-laki disebut ahwa. Disebut juga kecoklat-coklatan warna kulitnya karena dia berkulit kecoklatan.

Imam Nawawi meriwayatkan dalam syarah Shahih Imam Muslim dari Ibnu Abbas bahwa Hawa dinamai begitu karena Hawa adalah ibu dari setiap kehidupan. Maka semua manusia berasal dari keturunannya, dari kandungan Hawa.

Allah pun menghendaki Hawa mengandung dua pasang, masing-masing pasangan adalah laki-laki dan perempuan. Adam kemudian menikahkan anak laki-lakinya dengan anak perempuannya yang berbeda rahim atau kelahiran.

Imam Qurtubi meriwayatkan dalam tafsirnya sebab lain dari pada penanaman Hawa dengan nama ini. Mengutip sebuah riwayat yang mengatakan saat Adam duduk sendiri, Allah menciptakan Hawa dari tulang rusuknya tanpa disadarinya.

Dan ketika Adam memperhatikannya, Adam bertanya pada malaikat tentang Hawa. Maka berkata malaikat, dia adalah seorang wanita. Maka Adam bertanya tentang nama wanita itu. Maka malaikat menjawab dia bernama Hawa.

Nabi Adam pun bertanya tentang mengapa dinamakan itu? Maka malaikat berkata, sesungguhnya dia itu perempuan (imroatun) karena dia diciptakan dari seorang (al maru), dan dia dinamai Hawa karena dia diciptakan dari kehidupan (hayyat). Dialog antara malaikat dan Adam itu terjadi untuk menguji keilmuan Nabi Adam. Wallahu a’lam. []
