قالوا: نريد أن تسفر لنا عن وجهها حتى نعلم أنها الزوجة؟
قال الزوج: لا تفعلوا هي صادقة فيما تدعيه. فأقر بما ادعت ليصون زوجته عن النظر إليها
Seorang wanita mengadu kepada hakim di Negeri Roy. Wanita tersebut
mengklaim bahwa suaminya masih berhutang mahar kepadanya 500 dinar.
Namun, sang suami mengingkari hal tersebut dan sang istri datang membawa
bukti akan hal tersebut.
Para hakim kemudian berkata (kepada sang suami), ‘Kami ingin Engkau
membuka wajahnya (istrimu) kepada kami, sehingga kami yakin bahwa wanita
tersebut ialah istrimu.’
Sang suami berkata, ‘Jangan kalian lakukan hal tersebut. Klaim dia (istriku) itu benar.’
Sang suami mengakui hal tersebut untuk menjaga istrinya agar sang hakim tidak melihat wajahnya (cemburu yang syar’i).
khirnya sang istri berkata, ‘Aku telah halalkan (relakan) maharku
atasnya di dunia dan akhirat’” (Al-Bidayah wa An-Nihayah, 11: 81).
Perhatikanlah bagaimana kecemburuan orang shalih dahulu. Inilah yang
dinamakan cemburu cemburu syar’i, yang dipuji oleh syariat. Rasulullah
shalallahu alaihi wasallam bersabda,
قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ : لَوْ
رَأَيْتُ رَجُلاً مَعَ امْرَأَتِيْ لَضَرَبْتُهُ بِالسَّيْفِ غَيْرَ
مُصَفِّحٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
أَتَعْجَبُوْنَ مِنْ غِيْرَةِ سَعْدٍ لأَنَا أَغْيَرُ مِنْهُ وَاللهُ
أَغْيَرُ مِنِّيْ
“Sa’ad bin Ubadah radhiyallahu ‘anhu berkata, ‘Sekiranya aku melihat
seorang laki-laki bersama dengan istriku (berzina), niscaya dia akan
kutebas dengan pedang.’ Ucapan itu akhirnya sampai kepada Rasulullah.
Lalu beliau Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda, ‘Apakah kalian
merasa heran terhadap kecemburuan Sa’ad? Demi Allah, aku lebih cemburu
daripadanya, dan Allah lebih cemburu daripadaku’” (HR. Bukhari).
Namun yang wajib diperhatikan adalah rasa cemburu yang tercela. Yaitu
cemburu berlebihan yang selalu menimbulkan prasangka buruk pada
pasangannya. Cemburu yang menyebabkan menuduh pasangan tanpa bukti serta
