Allah Berikan Ummu Aiman Air dari Langit

UMMU Aiman atau dengan nama aslinya Barakah binti Tsalabah adalah salah seorang budak Abdullah ibn Abdul Muththalib, ayahanda Nabi Muhammad SAW. Ketika siti Aminah melahirkan Rasulullah, sepeninggal ayahandanya, Ummu Aiman mengambil dan merawat beliau hingga dewasa. Ummu Aiman mendidik Rasululla dengan baik dan tulus. Karena itu, Rasulullah selalu memanggilnya dengan panggilan: “Wahai ibuku.”

Sesudah menikah dengan sayyidah Khadijah, Rasulullah SAW memerdekakan Ummu Aiman. Hal ini sebagai bentuk penghormatan dan penghargaan atas ketulusan dan kebaikannya dalam mendidik beliau.

Ummu Aiman termasuk golongan pertama orang yang masuk Islam. Ia bernasib seperti sahabat yang lainnya yang memeluk Islam yaitu mendapatkan siksa serta hinaan dari kaum kafir Quraisy.

 

Ketika kaum musyrikin semakin keras dalam menyiksa dirinya beserta orang-orang yang masuk Islam bersamanya, Rasulullah SAW mengizinkan mereka untuk hijrah ke negeri Habasyah. Dengan demikian, Ummu Aiman merupakan salah seorang wanita yang hijrah untuk menyelamatkan agamanya dari kezaliman dan penyiksaan kaum musyrikin.
Ketika kembali ke Makkah al-Mukarramah, Ummu Aiman tidak lagi menghiraukan dirinya dan bersabar dalam menghadapi cacian, ancaman, dan penyiksaan. Pada akhirnya, datanglah pertolongan dari Allah SWT. Ummu Aiman hijrah ke Madinah al-Munawwarah bersama orang-orang yang hijrah bersama Nabi Muhammad SAW.

Pada saat hijrah ke Madinah al-Munawwarah itu, Ummu Aiman berpuasa, bangun malam, dan hijrah dengan berjalan kaki. Ia tidak memiliki sedikit pun bekal atau pun minuman hingga acapkali tersiksa oleh kehausan karena panas yang begitu menyengat di tengah sahara.

Ketika matahari tenggelam dan waktu berbuka tiba, Allah SWT menurunkan karamah yang besar kepadanya dan tidak bisa terlihat oleh seorang pun yang berjalan bersamanya. Ketika itu Allah menurunkan sebuah ember dari langit berisi air yang diselimuti oleh cahaya putih. Ummu Aiman segera mengambil ember itu dan meminum isinya hingga kenyang. Ummu Aiman berkata, “Sesudah itu, aku tidak pernah lagi merasa haus. Aku biasa berpuasa di bawah terik matahari dan tidak merasa haus.”

Ummu Aiman juga menceritakan, “Aku berjalan berkeliling di bawah terik matahari agar merasa haus, tetapi aku tidak pernah merasa haus.”

Ummu Aiman memiliki kedudukan istimewa di sisi Rasulullah SAW karena ialah satu-satunya keluarga beliau yang masih hidup. Hal ini ditegaskan dengan sabda Rasulullah SAW setiap kali melihat Ummu Aiman. Rasulullah SAW bersabda, “Ini adalah Ahli Baitku yang masih ada.” Selain itu, Rasulullah SAW juga telah memberinya kabar gembira dengan kedudukan agung di surga. Beliau bersabda, “Siapa yang ingin menikahi seorang wanita penduduk surga maka hendaklah is menikahi Ummu Aiman.”

Ketika sabda Rasulullah SAW tersebut terdengar oleh Zaid ibn Haritsah r.a., ia segera meminang Ummu Aiman kepada Rasulullah SAW dan beliau pun segera menikahinya. Dari perkawinan ini, Ummu Aiman melahirkan Usamah ibn Zaid. []
